The brief was straightforward: build a sensor that tells people when their plants need water, and make it something they'll actually keep using. Consumer hardware lives or dies on that second part.

Power was the constraint that shaped everything. A device that needs attention every few days trains people to ignore it; getting the hardware to run lean without compromising read frequency or reliability took most of the serious engineering effort on the firmware side.

Our scope covered the full product experience from the microcontroller up: custom firmware on the nRF52, wireless data transmission, and a mobile app that surfaces conditions cleanly and alerts before anything dies. The client owns a prototype they can take to manufacturing conversations; we handed over something that works, not a proof of concept that needs rebuilding.
